Not me. I turned 30 in June and I intend to stay that age for the next few years. Dan, however, is free to continue aging. In fact, I love it. The older he gets, the younger I feel. Thanks baby. So with much pleasure on my part, I’d like to say happy birthday to my beloved husband! My big love muffin turns 35 today. With all joking aside (at least for a little bit) I’d like to tell you a little bit about the man I love.
Dan is a kind hearted person with a gentle soul. He’s easy to be around and will just go with the flow. Some will say he’s on the quiet side, but start talking about a topic he loves (ahem football) and you may not be able to get a word in. He’s so loving and sweet and really is my perfect counterpart. He puts up with me and the things I make him do for my own amusement, like this
He takes risks like this
and still manages a smile when things don’t go so well.
He looks forward to our Halloween costumes.
He’s amazing on the piano.
He loves a good game night.
He loves beanies and actually wears the ones I make him.
Football is his passion. He’s currently 6 – 0 in his fantasy league #proudwife
He plans amazing birthday weekends.
When things like this happen…
he steps in to protect me.
And last but certainly not least, he’s just so devastatingly handsome.
Happy birthday Dan. I love you and appreciate you so much!
I call this our faux mantel because we don’t have a fireplace. When our house was being built, the fireplace was a $2,000 option. And the location of the fireplace would have cut into the only logical place for the … Continue reading →
I love zucchini. It’s my favorite vegetable. I love it grilled, sauteed, fried and I’ll even eat it raw. With that said, just like any food, I can grow tired of it after a while. We’ve been having a lot … Continue reading →
I’ve wanted to start this blog for a long time now. Since 2011 our world has changed a lot. We went into contract on a house in July that we watched be built from the ground up AND we got married in September of that same year.
It was a whirlwind of an experience. The wedding planning and house process crossed paths at many times. At one point we were designing and printing invitations for the wedding while also picking out tile and granite for the house. Although a little stressful at times, it was so much fun!
We got married on September 24, 2011 at the Oakland Yacht Club in Alameda. It was truly a beautiful and magical day. I feel so lucky to have married my best friend and to have such loving and supportive friends and family who helped every step of the way. Here are some pictures from that day, although I hope to be adding more.
We moved into our brand new house on December 24, 2011. Yes, Christmas Eve. Luckily our parents and brothers were there to help, and didn’t mind.
Ever since moving in, our lives have been consumed by the house. It’s been one project after another while also just learning a lot about home ownership in general. One thing for sure is I LOVE it! I love love love love love it! I love organizing spaces to make them more functional. I love designing. I love attempting to paint. I love crafting. I love tools! I want every tool possible even if I don’t know how to use it (which is most of them). I love cleaning! No wait that’s not true. I love creating cleaning schedules and (mostly) following them. And I sometimes love cooking and baking.
So that’s what this blog will pretty much be about. All of those loves. And maybe, just maybe we’ll include Dan’s main love…JORDAN’S. Yes. This will possibly be a blog about home design and Jordan’s.
